Woman From Genesee Charged With Indecent Exposure Sees Dismissal
Oct 21, 2016, by Case Results, Criminal Defense, Sex Crimes inWhen a 60-year-old woman from Genesee County found herself in an embarrassing and serious legal situation, she called on the veteran Michigan criminal defense attorney Martin Drias for help. The woman was working as a school bus driver and due to a previously diagnosed incontinence issue, she needed to immediately use the restroom. With an inability to hold it, and a serious lack of other options, the woman pulled over to relieve herself outside of the bus. However, she was apparently in view of her young passengers and subsequently charged with indecent exposure. The woman who had never been in legal trouble before was obviously very humiliated and was deeply troubled after her employer placed her on leave, pending the outcome of the case.
After consulting with his client to discuss her situation, attorney Davis, immediately met with the prosecutor in an effort to alleviate her concerns and hopefully set things right. Attorney Davis presented the prosecutor with documentation relating to her medical issue and argued that criminal charges were not appropriate in this case. Agreeing that the woman had been through enough as a result of this unfortunate incident, the prosecutor dismissed the indecent exposure charge and the woman was able to put this behind her.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
