Out-of-State Woman Sees Misdemeanor Reduced
Apr 04, 2017, by Case Results, Criminal Defense, Traffic inNot long ago, a 28-year-old woman was visiting Michigan, but had the misfortune of being pulled over and the police discovered an open bottle under her seat. Despite her claim that she was unaware it was there, the woman was suddenly charged with a misdemeanor far from home. Nervous about the possible penalties and how to handle the matter from another state, she retained the legal services of experienced Detroit criminal defense lawyer Martin Drias.
The woman returned home and Drias Law Group proceeded to handle the situation on her behalf. To avoid unnecessarily disrupting his client’s life with a return trip to Michigan, attorney Davis discussed the case with the prosecution and eventually negotiated to have the misdemeanor charge reduced to a simple traffic ticket for impeding traffic. As a result of attorney Davis’ skilled intervention, his client saw the issue successfully resolved and was spared from an inconvenient conviction.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
