Prostitution Charge Reduced For Detroit Man With Two Prior Convictions

Nov 24, 2015, by Martin Drias in Case Results, Sex Crimes

A Detroit man was facing 45 mandatory days in jail after offering to engage in the services of another for an act of prostitution. An undercover police officer made the arrest after he was found offering her $20 in exchange for sex. In Detroit, any prior conviction will result in unavoidable adverse consequences for a prostitution charge – the man had two prior offers to engage on his record. Under these circumstances, the man knew he could potentially lose his job as an employee of the post office. Drias Law Group PLLC was hired to represent the man and help save his career.

Attorney Martin Drias was able to sit down with the prosecutor and negotiate for a lesser offense of disorderly conduct, carrying no jail time or significant penalties. Our client saw a small term of probation, but most importantly, he was able to maintain his employment.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
