Man Found Not Guilty on Felony Assault & Domestic Violence Charges

We were recently contacted by a 48-year-old man arrested and charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm and domestic violence. Both of these offenses were charged as felonies.

Unfortunately, the man had several prior felony convictions on his record. If convicted, he faced serious consequences, including substantial prison time. Concerned with avoiding prison time, he consulted with the Michigan assault lawyers at Drias Law Group PLLC to see if we could help.

Our client was accused of contributing to his ex-girlfriend’s injuries during a physical confrontation she had with his current girlfriend, and the alleged victim sustained a fractured arm requiring surgery. Our client was offered a reduced charge of misdemeanor domestic violence and misdemeanor assault by the prosecuting attorney.
