License Reinstated for Ann Arbor Man Driving Under Suspension
Apr 13, 2016, by Case Results, OWI, Traffic inRecently, a man from Ann Arbor, MI found himself in a problematic legal situation when he was pulled over and charged with driving under suspension for three prior OWI infractions. In Michigan, if someone is caught driving while their license is suspended for a previous OWI offense, the penalties can increase profusely. The man knew that he was actually eligible to have his license reinstated prior to this incident, but had not taken steps towards reinstatement. Now faced with an extended suspension period and substantial fines, he reached out to the experienced OWI and traffic attorney Martin Drias with the Drias Law Group.
Attorney Martin Drias used his extensive knowledge to advise his client on how to restore his license and diminish the consequences of his recent transgression. Under attorney Davis’ direction, his client completed a driving evaluation, took the required drug screen, and scheduled a hearing to address the charge of driving under suspension, where he negotiated to have the citation reduced. This lesser violation did not include another suspension; therefore, the client did not see any ramifications for driving under suspension and perhaps more important, after the experience he will soon have a valid driver license.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
