Jackson, MI Man Sees Felony Weapons Charge Amended to a Misdemeanor

Dec 14, 2018, by Martin Drias in Case Results, Criminal Defense, Weapons

A Drias Law Group client who lives out of state recently reached out to attorney Martin Drias for help after he was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon without the proper paperwork. Unaware that Michigan law requires a license to carry a pistol, the man drove into Jackson, MI, and was eventually pulled over for a traffic stop. The client revealed to the officer that he was carrying a pistol. Since he did not have the proper license, he was arrested.

Attorney Martin Drias wanted to help his client avoid a felony conviction that could end up on his record, send him to jail, require a period of probation, and more, so he entered into negotiations right away. Due to attorney Davis’ quick action and legal skills, he was able to get the client’s charge amended to a misdemeanor that could one day be taken off his criminal record. As a result, the client only had to pay a fine.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
